What is a researcher? Several months after reading the first chapter of The Craft of Research I realized that every career entails some level of reserach! Somehow we tend to think its the bearded older chap with a look of wisdom. How about people like Jerry Seinfield, Creator of Google, Tiger Woods and the managers of local baseball and football teams??? This is probably what makes all of them so successful!

I think these days, educators who use classroom based Action Research to document and share their "I wonder what would happen if..." querries within their own classrooms are the up and coming researchers. I think good teachers have always operated as informal researchers. Now we just need to convince them to document and share their classroom findings so that we can move education into more of a respected science like the medical and legal fields enjoy.
